English Transfer Task turned out to be a new blog post. HAHA. I guess I ain't violating any law since I made this analysis & stuff. Hihi :> Get to know more about Hazel Grace Lancaster. So here it goes...
In the novel “The Fault In Our Stars” by John Green, Hazel Grace Lancaster is a sixteen-year old main character born on the 29th of September. The book is written based on what she thinks and what she sees. She is an only child, daughter of Mr. Lancaster and Mrs. Lancaster, a friend of Isaac, and the girlfriend of Gus [Augustus Waters]. Hazel changed the lives of many characters in the story and never thought that her illness would cause big events in her life.
Hazel is diagnosed with stage 4 Thyroid cancer with metastasis-spreading of cancer cells from one tissue to another, forming in her lungs yet she manages to live a normal life. She is strong yet realistic about the possible things that could happen to her in the future. Hazel never forgets that she has cancer and she needs to survive not only for herself but also for the people around her. Being her parent’s only child, she don’t want to disappoint them even when the time comes that she just wants to give-up. This trait can be seen in the line

“…I wanted to make them happy. There is only one thing shittier than biting it from cancer when you’re sixteen…” (page number forgotten). Hazel left a mark on Augustus life. For Gus, Hazel is very different; when you’re with her you can just have your own world. Gus really loved Hazel. In fact, before Gus dies he makes sure that Peter would write a eulogy for her. The lines “She is so beautiful. You don’t get tired looking at her. You never worry if she is smarter that you: You know she is. She is funny without ever being mean. I love her. I am so lucky to have her…” (p.313) proves that for Gus, Hazel is not a typical type of girl. But, after all the things that happened to her starting from her illness until her boyfriend’s death she still learns how to live again not losing the memories she had with the people around her.
Hazel can also be seen in our world right now. A person who’s willing to fight even if she’s at the verge of giving up, a person who would smile and live as if there is nothing wrong, and a person who was left breathing and standing alone because the one and only person whom she loved was gone, resting in peace. There are many things that a person can get from |Hazel’s perspective, words, and actions. One will know how to stay strong even if the whole world would fall apart. One will know how to love even if he/she is in the darkness of life. And, one will learn how to stand up even if the thing that holds him/her up was gone.
That's all! Thanks for reading. Lovelots! :* ❤
