Our class had our exposure trip last January 30. We arrived in Marikina (Shoe Capital of the Philippines) around 7:45 then went straight to Cafe Kapitan Resto to start the trip with an orientation. The speakers enlightened us about
how Marikina became the Shoe Capital of the Philippines, Marikina's history & some of their struggles. We went to Gibi Shoe Factory then we started to roam around. I never really thought that a pair of shoes undergo a very long & careful process. We had a lot of 'AHA' & 'Weh' moments during the tour. I asked some of the workers if I can try what they're doing, fortunately they said yes! :)

After the factory visit, we went straight to the Marikina Shoe Museum. When you go there, you will see the shoe collection of our former first lady, Imelda Marcos.
Bus-mates!! :)
We had our lunch inside our bus. After that, we returned to Cafe Kapitan for the final talk. Two speakers enlightened us about the state of the workers. We had our open forum then finally, we headed back to school. I was so high -- blame the rugby, HAHA. Anyway, thank you for reading this post!! :)
